City Farm in Bucknall Park has unveiled a new £35,000 toilet block as volunteers continue work to revive the community attraction.
The facilities were built and donated by Lovell Renew through its contract with Stoke-on-Trent City Council's Repairs and Maintenance Service.
Stoke-on-Trent Community Trust has run the farm since 2023. The new block is the latest in a series of improvements aimed at making the site more welcoming for visitors and volunteers.
Lovell Renew's James Phillips said the company was proud to support the farm's revitalisation, describing it as a much-loved community hub.
The farm team said the modern facilities would help it welcome more visitors and volunteers. It added that donations remain essential, with money raised going back into the farm and its plans to expand.
A free local day out
The farm is free to enter and opens at weekends from 10am. Its animals include sheep, goats, pigs, rabbits, ferrets, guinea pigs, geese, ducks and chickens, alongside an aviary.
There is also a wildflower meadow, an allotment, a pumpkin-growing area and a pond visited by wild ducks.
The trust wants to develop the farm as a place where children and families can learn about animals and enjoy being outdoors.
Councillor Duncan Walker said the project showed what the council, its contractors and the community could achieve by working together.
Visitors can find current opening information and details about volunteering or donating on City Farm's website.
