Specialist contractors will remove damaged trees at Sandyford Park next week as part of the ongoing recovery effort following a recent fire.
The work is scheduled for Tuesday 15 September and Wednesday 16 September. Contractors will use specialist vehicles and machinery to carry out the operation safely and efficiently, with access to the site via Sandy Road.
The trees have been assessed by specialists and identified for removal due to damage caused by the fire. The work is an important part of making the area safe as recovery works continue.
Council Recovery Efforts
Since the fire, Stoke-on-Trent City Council has worked alongside residents, emergency services, insurers, specialist contractors and community partners to support recovery efforts. This has included coordinating asbestos inspections and clearance works, facilitating structural assessments, securing affected areas and helping residents access support and advice.
Councillor Jane Ashworth, leader of Stoke-on-Trent City Council, said the removal of the damaged trees is another important part of the recovery effort. She added: "The trees have been assessed and identified as requiring removal as a result of damage caused by the fire. While this work may cause some temporary disruption, it is necessary to ensure the continued safety of residents, park users and those involved in the recovery programme."
