A café run by community interest company Tutorage CIC and a new family kiosk have opened at Hanley Park in Stoke-on-Trent.

What visitors can find at Hanley Park

  • Pavilion café: coffee, tea, cakes, flapjacks, milkshakes and biscuits
  • Family kiosk: children's toys, drinks, sweets and other visitor items
  • Ice cream van: the existing trader is continuing to operate in the park

Tutorage CIC opened the pavilion café at 8.30am on Saturday 8 August. The organisation supports people who do not fit the traditional education system, helping participants find different learning routes, gain qualifications, develop skills, volunteer and build community connections.

Hanley Park café opening times

The council announcement confirmed an 8.30am opening on the café's launch day, but it did not publish a regular weekly timetable. Visitors searching for current Hanley Park café opening times should check Tutorage CIC's latest information before making a special journey.

The kiosk and ice cream van are separate traders, so their hours may not match the pavilion café. Weather, park events and seasonal demand may also affect when individual facilities trade.

A community purpose behind the café

A Tutorage CIC spokesperson said its aim was to bring the pavilion back into use and support people through practical experience and connection. The menu was designed around affordable drinks and snacks served by what the organisation described as friendly local faces.

Hanley Park retains Green Flag status

The openings followed confirmation that Hanley Park had retained its Green Flag Award, the national standard recognising well-managed parks and green spaces.

Stoke-on-Trent City Council leader Jane Ashworth said the businesses would give families and residents more reasons to visit and support the park as a local destination.

Before visiting the pavilion

The café is inside Hanley Park's historic pavilion. The city council's announcement is the source for the launch details, while the operator is the best place to confirm today's menu, accessibility arrangements and trading hours.
