New Era victim service has achieved the Leading Lights Accreditation from SafeLives, the national organisation that recognises excellence in domestic abuse support services.
The service, jointly commissioned by Staffordshire County Council, the Staffordshire Commissioner's Office and Stoke-on-Trent City Council, supports victims of domestic abuse across Staffordshire and Stoke-on-Trent. It provides practical and emotional support to help people stay safe, recover from their experiences and rebuild their lives.
Recognition of high standards
The accreditation recognises New Era's commitment to providing high-quality, survivor-focused services. Melina Hancox, Area Manager at New Era, said the achievement reinforces the team's commitment to ensuring everyone accessing the service receives safe, high-quality support tailored to their individual needs.
Anthony Screen, Cabinet Member for Community Safety and Resilience at Staffordshire County Council, said the accreditation provides reassurance that people across Staffordshire are receiving support that meets the highest standards.
Ben Adams, Staffordshire Commissioner for Police, Fire & Rescue and Crime, said it was vital that domestic abuse victims and their families have access to high-quality support to help them recover from the impact of these crimes.
