A ribbon display outside Stoke's Civic Centre is helping families and the wider community mark Baby Loss Awareness Week.
Stoke-on-Trent City Council is working with the STILL support group on the display during the awareness week, which runs from 9 to 15 October.
The week offers an opportunity to remember babies who have died, raise awareness of pregnancy and baby loss, and highlight support available to bereaved families.
Baby Loss Awareness Week co-ordinator Sam Jackson said this was the fourth year of working with the council, Sands and Stoke Minster on the local remembrance display.
Councillor Sarah Jane Colclough, cabinet member for children's services, said the work of support groups matters to people who may feel alone after a loss.
Support and remembrance
A local remembrance service will also take place at Stoke Minster at 6pm on Thursday 15 October 2026. The council confirmed the date and time after correcting a typo in its original release. Further information is available on the Stoke Minster event page.
The council is encouraging residents who wish to take part in the national Wave of Light to light a candle at 7pm on Thursday 15 October.
Anyone seeking support can visit the Baby Loss Awareness support page or the Stoke Community Directory for information about local organisations.
