Staffordshire County Council has launched Build and Scale, a new support programme designed to help ambitious businesses accelerate growth and create jobs across the county. The scheme targets companies in construction, trades including plumbing and electrical work, and professional services such as accountancy and law. Successful applicants will work with a growth consultant to remove barriers and plan serious expansion.

To qualify for the programme, businesses must have been operating between two and five years and be based in Staffordshire outside Stoke-on-Trent. The council says the initiative aims to boost productivity, job creation and profits across the county's biggest growth sectors. Robin Hall, Cabinet Member for Economy and Skills, stated the scheme supports entrepreneurs with the potential to transform local communities through sustainable growth and better-paid jobs.

The Build and Scale programme represents a significant investment in local ambition. For Stoke and surrounding areas, the support could help growing firms overcome expansion challenges and reach their potential. Businesses in construction and trades have particular opportunities to benefit from specialist growth consultant support.

Interested firms can now register an expression of interest on the Staffordshire County Council Build and Scale webpage. This marks the official start of applications for businesses ready to scale up and create employment across Stoke and the wider region.
