Community groups across Stoke-on-Trent are being invited to apply for grants of between £5,000 and £15,000 to help residents struggling to afford food.
The city council's new Food Support Fund will back local projects providing immediate help and longer-term practical support. Applications must be submitted electronically by midnight on Monday 2 November 2026.
The scheme is funded through the council's Crisis and Resilience Fund. Successful projects must benefit Stoke-on-Trent residents experiencing financial hardship and be delivered by March 2027.
What can the funding support?
Eligible projects include food banks and parcels, community pantries and kitchens, hot-meal services, cooking classes and food-skills sessions. Cooking equipment can also be funded where it is provided alongside advice and support.
Charities, voluntary and community organisations, social enterprises, schools, food banks and health partners operating in the city can apply.
Applications will be assessed on evidence of need, measurable impact, value for money and the organisation's capacity to deliver. The council will also consider how projects combine crisis support with prevention of food poverty.
Councillor Sarah Hill said the fund would strengthen the network of community organisations already helping local people, supporting both immediate assistance and access to skills and nutritious food.
How to apply
Organisations can request an application form or further information by emailing crisisresiliencefund@stoke.gov.uk. The deadline is midnight on 2 November, with delivery required by March 2027.
