Stoke-on-Trent City Council has launched a Food Support Fund to help community organisations support residents struggling with food poverty and financial hardship.

The scheme is funded through the council's Crisis and Resilience Fund. Grants of between £5,000 and £15,000 are available to eligible organisations delivering projects that improve access to healthy food, prevent food poverty and strengthen community resilience.

Who can apply

Charities, voluntary and community organisations, social enterprises, schools, food banks and health partners operating within Stoke-on-Trent are eligible to apply. Projects must primarily benefit residents within the city and be delivered by March 2027.

What funding can support

The fund can support a wide range of initiatives aimed at helping residents experiencing financial hardship access nutritious food and practical support.

Assessment criteria

Applications will be assessed on evidence of need, measurable impact, value for money, organisational capacity and how projects contribute to both immediate crisis support and longer-term prevention of food poverty.

How to apply

Organisations interested in applying can request an application form or obtain further information by emailing crisisresiliencefund@stoke.gov.uk. Applications must be submitted electronically by midnight on Monday 2 November 2026.
