Stoke City have completed the loan signing of right-back Ben Johnson from Ipswich Town until the end of the season.
Johnson, 26, began his career with West Ham United, where he made 69 Premier League appearances over six seasons. He moved to Ipswich Town for their 2024-25 Premier League campaign, which ended in relegation. He featured in 17 games during Ipswich's promotion-winning return to the top flight the previous season.
Johnson was part of West Ham's Uefa Conference League-winning squad in 2023, putting him alongside his new Stoke team-mate Aaron Cresswell at the Potters. He has also won 10 caps for England's Under-21 side and made 92 Premier League appearances in total.
Part of Summer Squad Overhaul
Johnson's arrival follows fellow Ipswich player George Hirst, who joined Stoke on a permanent three-year deal on Thursday. The signings are part of a wider squad rebuild, with Stoke now having brought in seven new players this summer as they push for promotion eight years after relegation from the Premier League.
Sporting director Jonathan Walters said: "Ben has been trusted to play at the highest level from a young age, and, for both club and country, he has been involved in successful teams. He knows the Championship well, having been involved in Ipswich's promotion last season."
