Stoke-on-Trent City Council and The Hubb Foundation have completed the summer Holiday Activities and Food (HAF) programme, delivering 27,141 activity places for children across the school holidays.
The programme ran for 30 days and included 823 sessions, with 3,235 hours of activities in total. Sessions comprised 333 school-based activities and 34 external trips. Children received a healthy meal at each session.
Local partnerships and funding
The programme involved 164 organisations across Stoke-on-Trent and the wider region. The city council invested £50,000 through the government-backed Crisis Resilience Fund to provide additional meals and activities, forming part of a wider £300,000 package of support for families.
The Hubb Foundation worked with ten new local catering providers to deliver meals, supporting the local economy.

Council response
Councillor Sarah Jane Colclough, cabinet member for children's services at Stoke-on-Trent City Council, said the programme had been successful in ensuring children had access to healthy food, fun activities and positive experiences. She highlighted the value of collaborating with local partners to offer a wide variety of activities for different interests.
Adam Yates, Chief Operating Officer at the Hubb Foundation, described the summer programme as a huge success, designed to raise children's aspirations and broaden their horizons while providing nutritious meals.
