A 24-year-old woman found dead in Stoke-on-Trent has been named as Sarah-Louise Pennington. Her body was discovered at an address at Oakwell Court in Longton after police were called at about 03:30 BST on Sunday.
A 30-year-old man from Stoke-on-Trent was arrested on suspicion of her murder and has been granted additional time for questioning by detectives.
Investigation update
Staffordshire Police said the family of Sarah-Louise Pennington is being supported by specialist officers.
Detective Inspector Kirsty Oldfield from the force's major investigations department said officers were working to progress lines of inquiry. She said: "I'd like to reassure the community that we are not currently seeking anyone else in connection with this investigation and our enquiries are moving at pace."
Officers are carrying out house-to-house enquiries and providing visible reassurance in the area.

Staffordshire Police has appealed for anyone with CCTV, dashcam or doorbell footage to get in touch. Anyone with information about the investigation is asked to contact the force.
