Stoke-on-Trent Day is returning on 5 June 2026 as the city continues to build on the success of its Centenary celebrations. The annual event will honour Stoke's history, culture and identity, with residents encouraged to organise their own tea parties and join in festivities across the city.

The date marks 101 years since King George V granted Stoke-on-Trent city status in 1925. Last year's Centenary celebrations saw communities come together in record-breaking numbers, with the Big Centenary Tea Party becoming a highlight of the year for residents.

The 2026 event kicks off with a Civic Prayer Breakfast at the King's Hall, bringing together faith leaders, civic figures and community members. A new exhibition at Stoke Minster will showcase the Big Centenary Tea Party through photography, film and interactive displays, celebrating the city's shared heritage.

Lord Mayor Councillor Joan Bell praised the first Stoke-on-Trent Day as a fantastic celebration. She said residents should get involved by holding tea parties, joining events or simply taking time to celebrate what makes Stoke unique.

Residents are being urged to mark the occasion in whatever way feels right for them. Whether attending the Civic Prayer Breakfast, visiting the Stoke Minster exhibition or hosting a community gathering, Stoke-on-Trent Day offers a chance for the city to come together and celebrate its identity.
