Port Vale manager Jon Brady admitted to frustration after his side were held to a 1-1 draw by Tranmere Rovers at Vale Park.
The result leaves Vale with just one point from their opening two games. Supporters showed discontent at the final whistle following a poor performance from the Valiants, who were unable to beat a stand-in goalkeeper in the second half.
Brady's Assessment
Brady told the media after the match that his team had created the chances needed to win. "We had three big chances, and we should've put them away," he said. "We had plenty of territory around their box, and we should've created better opportunities."
He highlighted decision-making as a key problem. "Our decision making was really frustrating and we rushed chances. They had very little until the goal, and when I watch it back, we should clear it. We were indecisive in that moment."
Brady acknowledged the difficulty of League Two football but felt Vale should have taken the points. "It's not a given that we win every match. League Two is tough, and we're going through a tough start. Overall, we should win today."
Striker Support
The manager defended forward Mo Faal after missed opportunities. "We get a good chance at 1-0, and it was a tame header. We then get an unbelievable opportunity in the six-yard box, and we don't put it away," Brady said.
"Fair play to Mo, he put his hands up. He takes responsibility and I believe the goals will come. Top strikers miss, but they keep coming back and I believe in him."
